2007 started off with friends, Scott and Anyess. They came to D.C. to party the night away downtown for New Years. We went to R&R and had a blast. It was the Shocks in attendance, Scott and Anyess, Scott's sister and husband and his sisters friends. The spring semester began at NOVA. I took Drawing I, Design I and Art History II. This was my first time taking a Saturday class. It wasn't great waking up early on a Saturday morning, but since it was an interesting and participatory class, it made it easier.
February was a cold month. It was icy on Valentine's day, so we didn't do much. I did however bake Adam the most delicious strawberry cupcakes.
In March, I changed departments at Mediatech. I no longer work in Customer Support. I now work in the Quality Assurance department. I help with technical support and anything else that needs to be done.
Not much happened during the spring. I mainly focused on school and wedding planning.
At the end of spring, school was over and our Shock concert series began with Wolfmother at the 9:30 club in DC in April. They rocked the house! We had many concerts to attend through the summer. We saw Wolfmother and Keane at the 9:30 club. We saw Live at Celebrate Fairfax. We saw Rush in June at the Nissan Pavilion and Morrissey at Wolf Trap in July. The concert series ended in August when we went to V-fest (Virgin Music Festival), which was two days of intense heat and awesome music. Some memorable acts were: Beastie Boys, The Police, Smashing Pumpkins, Bad Brains, Wu-Tang, Velvet Revolver and 311. We may not ever do another outdoor festival again. Maybe if it's in the spring or fall, but never in the heat of summer!
In July we went to visit Adam's family in Minnesota. I met his Aunt Ginger and Uncle Butch, his cousin Ben and his wife Louise, Kathy and her husband Eric, his Aunt Gail and his grandmother. We had a good time and it was nice to meet his mothers side of the family. His cousin Ben is the one who introduced us to playing the Wii. After a few games, I finally had Adam convinced we should get one.
I found out in the beginning of August that I got accepted to Marymount University to pursue my Art Education degree. I'll be starting in January of 2008. Hopefully I'll be done by 2010!
Fall arrived quickly even though I wasn't in school. I couldn't enroll for Fall classes because of the wedding. I'm glad I didn't, because the last few months leading up to the wedding were a little crazy.
October arrived and the day finally came. We got hitched! The wedding was great fun and we got to see friends and family and party till dawn. I have over 1,000 pictures from the wedding, between Angela, Paivi and my photographer. I'm a lucky bride!
The Euromoon (or honeymoon in Europe) was amazing. I'm so glad we decided to do the whirl-wind tour. It was exhausting, but worth it in the end. We visited London, Paris, Leuven (Belgium), Amsterdam, Berlin and Prague! That's a lot for 2 weeks, but we did it successfully.
Because we spent all of our money on the wedding and honeymoon, we didn't have the cash to buy plane tickets to visit family for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
For Thanksgiving, Laura and John invited us to their house on the Chesapeake Bay. The house is gorgeous and it was nice to spend the holiday with my surrogate mother on the East Coast. While we were down there, we hit up the small-town Wal-Mart on Black Friday and scored our Wii! I also got my early Christmas present...a new laptop!
Christmas was very different for me this year. No family, just my dear hubby. I had decorations up the Sunday after Thanksgiving and was full of holiday cheer. On Christmas Eve, we went to see Walk Hard and I Am Legend. After the movies, we went out to dinner at Coastal Flats. I had a big meal to cook on Christmas day, so I wanted to relax on Christmas Eve. No dishes for me that night! Christmas day I headed to mass and started on our feast when I got home. It was my first Christmas meal that I prepared from scratch. It was a success and we had a week of leftovers.
We're now settling into married life...just kidding, it's no different than when we were living in sin. Now we just have to sort through all of the pictures and keepsakes. We also have to put together our scrapbook of mementos from Europe and publish my Euromoon journal. We already have a to-do list of things to get done by 2008, which we are successfully churning through.
The Cowboys come to town on the 30th to play the Redskins and we'll be there to witness! Hopefully they kick some Redskin booty! They lost last year when I went to my first Cowboys vs. Redskins game!
For New Years, we invited friends over for some bubbly and to play Wii with us into the new year. It should be a nice evening at home with great friends. We are looking forward to more blessings in 2008!
We hope everyone had a safe and happy holidays!

Wii
So as I said, we got a Nintendo Wii on Black Friday. We have played every day since we got it. We just got Mario vs. Sonic Olympics and it is friggin awesome! For New Year's Eve, we invited friends over to come play with us. Angela got Guitar Hero as a Christmas present, so she's gonna bring it with her so we can get a little taste. We'll probably end up wanting that game next. What's better than bringing in the new year with friends, bubbly and Wii? I don't know either.

2007 Shock Christmas
This is our first Christmas away from family, but our first Christmas as a married couple. I made a huge feast! It's the first time I've ever cooked a Christmas dinner all alone. Hopefully next year we'll get to spend it with family. It's much different when it's just us two. I'm not saying my husband is chopped liver, but its always fun to have tons of kids and family around. I've taken pictures of the Christmas decorations and our feast. Just click on the title of this entry to have a look. Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year!!

Color Saturation
So while I was at work today, I had some time on my hands and I decided to play around on Flickr with some of my pictures. I played with the color saturation and temperature and these are some of my favorites.

Wedding Pictures
So I have officially scanned in all of the photo proofs from my wedding photographer. All 300 and something of them. I am still waiting on the black and whites, but as soon as she sends those, I'll get them scanned in. For now, I'm giving my scanner and my back a break. You can go to my Flickr profile to see all of the wedding pictures. I am one lucky bride, I have over a thousand pictures from my wedding! I am blessed with many wonderful photographers in my circle of friends and family. If anyone would like a copy of any of the pictures, just let me know.
