Now you KNOW I had to grab that classic for my future little ones. It even had all the inner pieces, which is mind-boggling considering how things always seemed to get lost in that house. When I was little, I always had the hardest time pulling the toy open to get the pieces out. When I brought it home it had the opposite problem, it wouldn't stay shut. Knowing that Tupperware has a lifetime guarantee on all of their products, I gave them a call to see what could be done (for those of you that didn't know, I used to be a Tupperware sales woman - and I was good!). After a short phone call and a $5 credit card charge for shipping, my replacement piece was on it's way. The day it arrived, Atom brought up a large box from the mail. He told me it was from Tupperware. Seeing the size of the box, I immediately assumed that they sent me the entire ball. When I took it out of Atom's hands, the box was extremely light. I opened it up and my worst suspicions were true. Tupperware sent my tiny little replacement piece in a gigantor sized box! Ugh. Friday, October 09, 2009
Tsk, Tsk Tupperware
When we were cleaning out my mother's house a few years ago, I brought back some of my things from childhood. Mostly I brought back a lot of my baby blankets, but there were a few gems I had forgotten about. I found my Shape-O Toy in the toy box.

I know that many companies have this problem, but it still amazes me to no end. I'm pretty sure that tiny piece would have fit into a padded envelope. It was just a rubber band and two little yellow handles, they could have even skipped the padding and just sent it in an envelope. Instead they decided on a large cardboard box. Brilliant! Sigh.
