I can see!

Please tell me why it has taken me this long to get a pair of prescription sunglasses? THEY ARE TOTALLY RAD! I think I mentioned that I would like to get some as I was driving us all home from NYC and the sun was burning my retinas. I either have to wear my glasses and face the wrath of the sun or wear sunglasses and not be able to read street signs. Pretty crummy choices if you ask me. The stars aligned: I was due for an eye exam, we got a coupon in the mail from a local optical shop, and we had some cash in the FSA. My prescription has barely changed, so I can use my old glasses and the new pair that I got in addition to the sunglasses. (An optically challenged girl needs choices! AND I got a killer deal) This slow change in vision also means that I am an excellent candidate for laser surgery in the future. That will be a while. Until then I'll be rocking the glasses, but I really don't mind. My sunglasses came in today, just in time for an impending road trip. I'm still waiting on the other pair. These are RayBans and they have polarized lenses...which means I now have X-Ray vision! OK, maybe not, but I could SEE the whole way home from the optical shop. Now let's hope I can keep the sunglass gods happy so they don't get lost, broken or stolen.
